What is Bikram Yoga some of you may ask. Well. It is this, hands down the most intense workout I have ever done. It not only simultaneously heals you and strengthens you physically but it heals and strengthens you emotionally as well. For me its the answer to my mood swings, my extra weight, my self esteem.
Here is a description that came from the Bikram Yoga Concords website that pretty well sums it up:
About Bikram Choudhury
Bikram Choudhury is the founder of Bikram Yoga College of IndiaTM. Bikram began yoga at the age of four under Bishnu Ghosh in Calcutta. A dedicated student, practicing at least four to six hours a day, Bikram won the National India Yoga Championship at the age of 13 and remained undefeated for the following three years.
At the age of 17, Bikram sustained a horrific knee injury during a weight-lifting tournament and leading doctors said he would never walk again. He knew that if anyone could help him get back on his feet, it would be his teacher, Bishnu Ghosh. Six months later, his knee had totally recovered. Ghosh was the first to scientifically document Yoga's ability to cure chronic physical ailments and heal the body.
Bikram was asked by Ghosh to start several yoga schools in India. From there he traveled to Japan and opened two more. The schools were so successful that they brought his curative methods of Yoga therapy all around the world.
About the Yoga
Bikram’s beginning yoga class is comprised of 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises done in a heated room for 90 minutes. Every Bikram class is the same. The series is designed so each posture prepares your body for the next one by warming and stretching your muscles, ligaments, and tendons, in the order in which they should be stretched. Through stretching, compression, and relaxation, Bikram yoga moves fresh oxygenated blood to 100% of your body, restoring all body systems to healthy working order. Weight management, increased muscle tone and flexibility, stress reduction, a stronger immune system, and a happy, healthy glow will automatically follow!

So, if you want to, follow me on this journey from now until next dec.1st. I cant wait for the changes that are about to rule over my body and mind, i embrace them with open arms.
